One Room Challenge: Week 5 - Updating Old Cabinets
It's Week 5 of the One Room Challenge and this week I made some significant progress. I finished staining the waterall counter top a nice walnut and I spent the majority of my time updating the old cabinets hanging above my washer and dryer. This was an easy DIY idea that I will be sure to use again. See details below.
The original cabinets in our laundry room seem to have been handmade by the previous owner. The doors were basically pieces of plywood on hinges. I explored purchasing new doors but they have an odd size so I'd have to custom order which would have been beyond my budget. Since the existing doors were still functional I decided to give them a cheap and cheerful facelift. I added some trim around the edge of each door to give them a shaker-style look. I am really happy with how these turned out but I can't show you more you'll have to wait until next week's reveal to see how these puppies turned out.
As always be sure to check out the official designers in the One Room Challenge Fall 2019 and the other guest participants progress. Can't wait for the reveals next week!
