Easy Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Thank you Simon and Garfunkel, if not for you I would never remember which herbs go with turkey. Seriously, in my mad dash through the grocery store this morning I was singing "parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme". I was rushing because I needed to cook my entire Thanksgiving dinner in two hours this morning. My husband booked an afternoon cruise for us and we decided at the last minute to have Thanksgiving dinner (why do I do this to myself). Anyway, I managed to cook all the food and make an easy thanksgiving centerpiece.
I picked up these squash at Chappell Farms, the owner called them Ghost Rider squash. He said they were really tasty however I just liked them for their unique blue/grey colour.
I put three of them on the table with my standard grey runner (a white one would work well too). Then I placed some fake greenery around them. For the placecards I cut some craft paper and wrote "Thanksgiving on them" and placed a small square of burlap behind them. That's it, an easy cute Thanksgiving centerpiece.
Rather than a full turkey I made turkey breast. Dinner turned out really well. I surprised myself. Thanks again Simon and Garfunkel.
... and the cruise was lovely. So Thankful.
