My mom and I decided to try our hand at a fondant cake for the shower. I received a bunch of quotes to get this made but they all seemed a bit high. I will say, after completing this cake I now know why their quotes were so high, working with fondant is hard and it didn't end up saving us any money in the long run.  In any case it was fun. 

I found the template for the shoes here - worked great (this was the easiest part of the cake, lol). A couple things to note; Rather than buying the shape cutters we made our own template by cutting them out of wax paper. Use paper towel inside the shoe to keep it from collapsing while it sets. Make these ahead of time and freeze them.
