One Week Challenge - Week 5 - Painting Tips
Well it's week 5 of the One Room Challenge. Phewf, this project is taking over my life. This week I tackled painting the walls and hanging my chandeliers.
I painted my paneled wall white and my accent wall in this great navy blue. I also have these large bulkheads framing the parameter of the room which will be painted white as well (not shown in the pics below).
Here are my Top 5 Painting Tips:
1. Start with your light colour first.
2. Use Frog tape (trust me it is the best).
3. If you need to take a break wrap your brushes/rollers in plastic wrap.
4. Always use a primer.
5. Make your coats light so they dry faster and you can quickly recoat.
Now, I'm not sharing any major pics because I want to save some of the surprise for next week's reveal. So here's a sneak peak.
Oh yeah, I also hung my chandeliers but I'm still waffling on the light bulbs. I think I'm going to go with some sort of Edison tubular bulb. Stay tuned.
Be sure to check out the One Room Challenge participants progress here and the guests participants here. Also, to catch up on my work to-date you can visit Week 2, Week 3 and Week 4.
See you back here next week. We can do this!
